Lecture by Dr Nikolay Biba on the 13th of November 2015 in Glasgow, UK
Dear colleagues!
Dr Nikolay Biba (MICAS Simulations Ltd.) will be giving a presentation entitled «The method of elastic-plastic thermo-mechanical fatigue simulation and its implementation to hot forging dies life time prediction» as part of the University of Strathclyde MAE Invited Seminar Series.
The seminar will take place on the 13th of November 2015 in University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK.
The purpose of this particular lecture is a strengthening of scientific and research collaboration between MAE and AFRC. The presentation will start with a quick introduction to the advanced metal forming simulation software QForm V8. This software can simulate any metal forming processes including: cold and hot forging, open die forging, ring and wheel rolling, reducer rolling, cross-wedge rolling, screw rolling, profile extrusion, flow forming, hydroforming, sheet forming, orbital forming and powder forging. However the main focus of this lecture will be on the fatigue mechanism of dies failure that is a thermomechanical deformation in hot forging.
