Scientific Conference and Users seminar in Poland. September 2024
The Metal Forming Conference 2024 was held 15 - 18 September 2024 at AGH University of Krakow, Poland.
We were pleased to be platinum sponsors of the event.
Nikolay Biba were showed two key presentations during the main program:
Industrial presentation with the main point of design system combination with simulation capabilities in forging, extrusion and rolling technological processes.
and more deep demonstration Integration of automated roll pass design and simulation for the development of shape rolling technology.
In addition to the two reports by Nikolay Biba we met with our partners and users and discussed plans for future cooperation.
QForm Group is happy to engage in mutually beneficial collaboration with universities, and we are ready to sponsor research projects. For cooperation inquiries, you can reach us at [email protected].
QForm UK Seminar. Krakow. 19 September 2024.
Advanced numerical simulation of metal forming processes.
The traditional meeting of users and partners symbolizes the growing QForm community.
We discussed not only the effective and advanced use of simulation but also listened to user reports about their experience with QForm. It was great to see the presentations from QForm UK users from Industry and education:
- The use of numerical calculations to assess tool durability.
Grzegorz Ficak, Engineer R&D, GK FORGE Sp. Z o.o. - Design of extrudate geometry and die design using numerical simulation of extrusion process in QForm Extrusion and methods of process data analysis.
Dr inż. Jacek Madura, Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza w Krakowie, Wydział Metali Nieżelaznych - Modeling of multiple-tool stress-related problems with use of elastic-plastic FEM analysis.
Dr inż. Piotr Skubisz, Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza im. Stanisława Staszica w Krakowie, Wydział Inżynierii Metali i Informatyki Przemysłowej, Katedra Plastycznej Przeróbki Metali i Metalurgii Ekstrakcyjnej - Analysis of the forging process in the context of predicting the destruction of the die cavity.
Paulina Kała, student, Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza w Krakowie
The highlight of the Seminar was the presentation by Jakub Długosz, a student from Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza w Krakowie. Jakub won third place in the Hot Forging section at the International Student Olympiad on Metal Forming Processes 2024 and shared his preparation secrets, as well as details about the organization of teaching simulation methods at the university.
The International Student Olympiad has been held annually for 10 years. This year, 14 countries, 40 universities, and over 100 students participated. You can find the results of the Olympiad and a report on how it went here.
The awarding of diplomas and prizes for Jakub Długosz as a winner of National Forging Olympiad in Poland and is completed!
Thank you and see you at the next Metal Forming Conference in Palermo, Italy and traditional User's Seminar in Poland!
