XXVI Conference on Computer Methods in Materials Technology (KomPlasTech-2019) was held on 13-16 January 2019 in Zakopane, Poland
There is an increasing necessity to solve complex problems in numerical simulation of metal forming. The main objective of the KomPlasTech Conference is to get together scientists and researchers working in the fields of computer methods and materials science and to enable exchange of information between those two groups.

Most of presentations were subjected to materials microstructure simulation and its effect on mechanical properties. Irene J. Beyerlein (University of California, Santa Barbara, USA) made a report «Twin formation, propagation and intersections at the mesoscale», Victor Calo (Curtin University, Perth, Australia) talked about modeling evolution of metamorphic rocks. Much has been said about phase transformation simulation, microstructure evolution, FEM simulation and experimental work in materials science.
Dr. Artem Alimov (Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Russia) reported about progress in simulation of heat treatment and microstructure evolution of titanium alloys. New model for simulation of heat treatment of Ti-6Al-3.5Mo-1.5Zr-0.3Si titanium alloy has been developed and implemented in QForm software. The model is capable to predict phase composition and hardness during and after arbitrary heat treatment within studied range.
