QForm Group will participate in the International Forging Seminar, which will take place in Złobnica on March 26–27, 2026. The seminar program includes presentations on innovative solutions in the forging industry. The seminar is organized by the Polish Forging Association (ZKP).
Paul Mordvintsev, Business Development Director, QForm Group, Formatech Systems SL, will present the report "Efficient forging system for die design and simulation. Preventing forging defects through automated preform design in QForm Direct" and discuss CAD QForm Direct.
Abstract:
This study presents a design methodology for multi-step closed-die forging processes applied to complex aluminium and steel components. The primary objective is to determine the optimal geometry of preforming dies in order to ensure a defect-free final product.
Using the QForm Direct automated CAD system, the procedure begins with the generation of candidate surfaces representing the main contact shapes between the workpiece and the tools during preforming operations. Based on these surfaces, the complete die geometry is developed, followed by conventional metal forming simulations to evaluate process performance and product quality.
