The Olympiad was first launched in 2013 by a small initiative team - and has grown significantly since then. Today, it brings together universities and students from around the world, expanding into new areas and sections. This has been made possible thanks to the active participation of students, professors, and organizers. Thank you for being with us!
We believe the Olympiad inspires students not only to compete, but also to pursue a thoughtful and meaningful path in their chosen field.
This year, the international stage for the first time featured a dedicated section on sheet metal forming. We would like to thank everyone who took the initiative to join this new track and congratulate all winners and awardees!
In 2025, we were joined by new participants from Uzbekistan, Turkey, Republic of Korea, and Bulgaria.
We are delighted that new participating countries have also joined us this year: Mexico and Greece. We hope your involvement will become an annual tradition and wish your students every success and many future victories!
Bálint Gábriel from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics secured a convincing victory in the most popular section — Hot Bulk Forging. Congratulations!
Hungary has once again come out on top. Will anyone be able to beat it next year? Who knows, who knows :)
In Germany this year, the Olympiad was held at two universities: TU Bergakademie Freiberg and the University of Stuttgart (IFU). Immanuel Bilz from TU Bergakademie Freiberg took third place in the Rolling section — an excellent result!
Students from Turkey and Uzbekistan are participating in the competition for the second year in a row. We’re pleased to see which sections they’re choosing: more and more participants are opting for extrusion and rolling, although hot forging remains the most popular section.
Russia and China are once again leading in terms of the number of participants. In Russia, the Olympiad is being held simultaneously in five cities, with students from 16 universities across the country competing.
Huge respect to the team from South Korea! This year, they competed in three sections at once!
